How To Protect Your Children or Nephews From YouTube

If you have children at home (either because you have children, nephews, or because your friends come to see you with theirs), you will be used to seeing them for a while in front of a tablet or mobile phone. And sometimes longer than they should. But that is another story. We are going to talk to you about today because we often forget that there is content on the Internet (too much) that they should not see and from which we must protect them.

But before explaining how to do it, we will recommend our fiber and mobile rates to see drawings on YouTube. You need a good Internet connection. And at Lowi, we have options for all tastes and all budgets. If you still do not have a rate contracted with us, take a look. Undoubtedly one of them suits your needs.

Steps to block content on YouTube

YouTube indeed removes certain prohibited content (such as violent, for example), but others escape it, and the line between good and evil is quite confusing. Therefore, we must learn to restrict the content on this platform. And it is as simple as setting the restrictions. How? Follow these three steps:

If you do it from the computer:

  • Step 1: Enter your YouTube account and click on your profile image.
  • Step 2: Go to the last option in the menu, to ‘Restricted mode’
  • Step 3: Click on it and activate it.

If you do it from the smartphone:

  • Step 1: Go to ‘Settings’ or ‘Settings’
  • Step 2: Click on ‘General’
  • Step 3: Activate ‘Restricted Mode’

As you can see, it warns you that it is not 100% effective. We tell you in case, even with it activated, you find some content that should not be shown.

Another option is to create an account on Youtube Kids. All the videos that they will find there are suitable for them. Although, if you see one that doesn’t quite convince you, you can block it as well. As simple as:

  • Step 1: Click on the ‘More’ button at the top of the video.
  • Step 2: Click ‘Block’
  • Step 3: Select the option to block (video or channel) and block
  • Step 4: Confirm that lock with your password.

If you change your mind and want to unlock them after a while, you can do it in ‘Settings.’

And so far, today’s lesson. Thanks to this little tutorial, you will avoid the little ones seeing images that they should not.
